shanxi Hainuo Technology Co., Ltd. — China’s first homegrown high-performance hollow glass microsphere (HGM) manufacturer, with 15,000 tonnes of annual capacity.
Why This Guide?
From deep-sea oil & gas to 5G base stations, from aerospace structures to lightweight automotive composites — hollow glass microspheres (HGM) deliver light weighting, higher strength, thermal insulation and low dielectric performance across a wide range of demanding applications.
Hainuo offers 31 commercial grades spanning ultra-light, low-, medium- and high-density ranges. Selecting the correct grade is the difference between an optimized part and a formulation that underperforms. This guide, based on the latest Hainuo product specification sheet (Sep 2026), helps you match the right model to your pressure, weight and particle-size requirements at a glance.
How to Read the Model Numbers
All Hainuo grades are prefixed HN. The number broadly corresponds to the true-density tier (value * 0.01 g/cm³): for example, HN60 has a true density of 0.58–0.62 g/cm³, while HN140 reaches 1.30–1.50 g/cm³. Within each family, suffixes tell you the design intent:
Suffix
Meaning
HS
High-Strength series — higher compressive strength within the same density tier
HL
Lightweight / Economy series
-1 / -2
Sub-grades of the same family
K
High-strength custom grade (e.g. IN16K, 0.44–0.48 g/cm³, 110 MPa / 16,000 psi)

Three Steps to the Right Grade
1. Define the pressure envelope first. Select a strength range based on your process or service pressure — for example, 8,000–18,000 psi for well cementing, or a lower envelope for coatings and adhesives.
2. Set the light-weighting target. Within the pressure range, the lower the density, the less dosage you need and the greater the weight saving.
3. Verify particle size and crush rate. D50/D90 affect packing and surface finish; crush rate affects long-term system stability. Confirm these item by item for specialty applications.
